The Role – Commercial Advisor

Reporting to the Head of Operational Strategy and Performance, the Commercial Advisor will provide high-quality commercial support and guidance to help support the effective management of Serica’s UK North Sea portfolio.

The person in role will manage commercial and contractual aspects of existing commercial agreements whilst working closely with the asset managers and other colleagues in Aberdeen and London to ensure effective management of joint venture relations.   They will be supported by the commercial co-ordinator.  The role will also be involved in Serica’s compliance with US sanctions requirements relating to the Rhum gas field.

They will have an important role to play in supporting the Head of Operational Strategy & Performance by providing strategic insights and guidance to optimise our commercial operations whilst supporting and inputting in to the corporate business planning processes.

What we are looking for in potential candidates:

This role is ideal for a proactive individual with commercial experience ideally in the oil and gas sector.

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent with finance, commercial or engineering background or considerable experience in a similar role  

Professional skills:

  • Commercial experience
  • Good knowledge of oil and gas business
  • Skilled in standard business software and IT systems, particularly Excel
  • Good overall understanding of data handling
